Pentax ZX-7 (M-Z7) Date | $194.95 | | |
Featuring the innovative “Auto Picture Mode," the Pentax ZX-7 is so smart that if completely frees you from complicated exposure control! It will automatically select one of five Picture Modes: landscape, close-up, action, portrait or standard program based on your subjects' distance, lens focal length and movement, and tells you about its decision via the illuminated mode dial and the viewfinder indication.
Features- When the intelligent Auto Picture mode is selected, the ZX-7 automatically chooses the most appropriate auto exposure mode from five different programs (Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Close-Up and Action) based on the photographic situation. The ZX-7 detects the subject's distance, lens focal length and whether or not the subject is in motion; assuring the best results possible.
- The illumination dial clearly indicates which program is selected by the camera, or you -- even in the dark. The selected mode is also indicated in the viewfinder display.
- In addition to the hands-off Auto Picture mode, the ZX-7 offers six manually selectable picture modes, two conventional auto exposure modes (Aperture- priority AE and Shutter-priority AE), metered manual and bulb modes.
- Thanks to the acclaimed high-precision, high-speed phase matching autofocus (SAFOX IV) system, the ZX-7 assures sharp, crisp focus even under poor lighting conditions. The three-point wide focus frame enables pinpoint focus.
- Predictive autofocus function automatically detects the subject's motion and anticipates the subject's position at the time of shutter release, resulting in perfectly focused photos even when the subject is moving toward or away from the camera.
- Pentax's sophisticated six-segment multi-pattern light metering system calculates the optimum exposure, so even the most difficult high-contrast lighting situations present no problems.
- Exposure compensation of +/- 3 EV in ½ EV steps allows you to intentionally over- or under-expose your images for just the right effect your creativity demands to capture the mood of the moment.
- With a simple push of the memory lock button, the exposure value is memorized for 20 seconds, allowing you to recompose the image without changing the exposure on your subject.
- Covering a wide 28mm angle of view, the built-in auto flash pops up and automatically discharges when the camera detects low-light and/or backlight situations. Its red-eye reduction function effectively reduces this effect which can appear in the subject's eyes (although it may not eliminate red eyes completely in all instances).
- The ZX-7's multi-data LCD panel, with large icons and numbers, efficiently compliments the camera's simple operation system. When the camera is used under low-lighting conditions, a green LCD illuminator brightens the panel to make data confirmation easier.
- The ZX-7 is the first model in the PENTAX ZX series to offer a convenient remote control mode. Using an optional infrared remote control, you can release the ZX-7's shutter from a distance - either instantly or after a three-second delay.
- You can easily expose more than two images on a single frame to create dramatic multiple exposures. When taking three or more exposures on the same frame, simply press the multiple exposure button after each exposure.
- The user can select the panorama mode for any frame to capture dramatic landscape images or large group shots. The viewfinder image is automatically adjusted to indicate the panorama format.
- The ZX-7 Date model has five-mode switchable data imprinting: "Year-Month-Day," "Day-Hour-Minute," "Month-Day-Year," "Day-Month-Year," and blank.
