Two conveniently placed buttons move the focal length from 38mm to 52mm, 63mm and 76mm. An aspherical lens compensates for wide- angle distortion and assures high image quality at all focal lengths
Three-point Autofocus measures 133 distance zones from 2 feet to infinity.
The infrared autofocus system automatically decides whether to use macro measurements for close-up range, center I-point measurement for medium range or wide-field 3-point measurement for long range. The system uses fuzzy logic to select two-sided priority (for two subjects) or center priority.
Mode Dial provides creative range.
The five-position Mode Dial includes two settings for the built-in flash that considerably reduce the disturbing "red-eye effect" visible in many flash-lit portraits. In the Slow-Sync and Flash Auto with Red-Eye Reduction Modes, a lamp flashes for 1.3 seconds before the flash goes off, causing the subject's pupils to close and reflect far less red light. There is also a Flash Off mode, a Flash Auto without Red-Eye Reduction, and the Self-Timer Mode that allows the photographer to put himself in the picture.
Big viewfinder you can use without taking off your glasses.
The large viewfinder makes it easy to frame a picture and to clearly see what the final image will look like. A green lamp at the right side of the viewfinder shows the shooting status. The power zoom is
operated with two large buttons and all other controls are easy to see and operate. The camera body is shaped to fit the hand for a steady, instinctive grip.
