These were some of the questions that guided the design of the new GX680 III Professional.Certainly, basic qualities such as functionality, reliability and image quallty would have to be raised to new levels. But the camera should also encourage its user to try an ever widening range of creative possibilities, while easing the everyday workload as much as possible.To expand this creative range, there should be a choice of multiple formats. Thus, the GX680 III Professional was created. It not only offers four medium formats, its motor drive also advances the film to the first frame automatically. It has all professional bellows movements such as swing, tilt, shift, rise and fall. It makes full use of EBC Fujinon lenses' superb optical qualities.

Factory-set for 6x8cm (2.4x3.2"), the unique film holder also accepts any of three supplied format masks for easy switching not only to the highly popular 6x7 format, but also to 6x6 or 6x4.5, providing a choice of four fomats. The camera detects which format is being used, adjusting the available number of frames automatically. Now, with just one camera, you can select the most suitable format for any job; portraits, product photgraphy, landscapes and other outdoor shooting, on-location work such as weddings, commercial photography - one of the four formats will fill the particular situation perfectly.
The 6x8cm format provides excellent framing possibilities and needs hardly any cropping for enlargements or professional printing on the most common paper sizes. The available image area is used very efficiently. (9 frames on 120 film, 18 frames on 220)
Advanced motor drive with high precision frame advance control automatically adjusts to selected format.
When film is loaded, a sensor detects the starting point of the actual film and advances it accurately to the first frame. Then, for each successive frame, signals are generated by an encoder in the revolving counter-roller, indicating the amount of film advanced and enabling accurate electronic control and precise positioning with equal gaps between frames. As this is performed automatically in accordance with the
